Making $98K in a single day dismantled my limiting beliefs forever…
It was holiday season; Q4 2020. We knew Black Friday was around the corner and we, together with our client wanted to make a killing to close out the year.
We planned our sale ahead of time and rolled it out perfectly.
How We Did It
Awareness Campaign: We annonced we would be having a huge sale a week before black friday. We got the word out by running a small facebook ad campaign targeting our ideal audience who already knew about us from previous facebook campaigns.
We also notified the email subscribers with a few emails and put up a blog post about it beforehand.
All of these built up the anticipation the main event and people couldn’t wait for 27th.
Irresistable Offers: We created two irresistable offers, one was a giveaway of supplies worth $10,000 and a staggering 40% OFF all of our client’s packages. Who would say no to that? Nobody (who needs the service).
Perfect Timing: We didn’t wait till black friday to start the sale and compete with a gazillion other businesses, instead we started started the sale a day earlier on thursday and let it run till saturday. The bulk of our sales came from that first thursday not the friday itself.
Our Results - $130K Sold by Friday!
We sold $98,556 on Thursday and another $32K+ on Friday, bringing our client’s total black friday sale to $130K.
Conclusion
One thing to note here is that we didn’t push these offers to a cold audience that had never heard about us but rather a warm audience that we had spent most of the year educating about how our client’s service can save them time and double their ecommerce sales.
So, creating awareness and giving valuable information before you ask people to buy something is very important and can lower your cost per sale drastically.
Hopefully you found some value in this quick case study. I’ll be documenting our wins and losses here on this blog. It’ll be more like a public diary for me to look back at our journey and for business owners to learn from real life examples.
Feel free to leave your thoughts, comments, and questions below. I’ll get to them as time permits.
Peace and love,
Joel.
